Don't worry about that at all,
Once he transfers the number from the carrier, he will be able to receive the SMS and calls when Jawwy stc coverage activates, but it needs just a few steps to activate the package, and definitely, he will enjoy using it.
We are glad to let you know the steps to transfer the number to Jawwy as follows:
1) Go to our Online Shop https://shop.jawwy.sa/sim-pack for a physical SIM, or here https://www.jawwy.sa/en/content/esim-0 for the eSIM, and then add the SIM/eSIM you desire to the cart and click "Checkout".
2) Register your account, log in, or proceed as a guest in order to continue your order.
3) In the first step, you’ll have the option to choose either to keep your existing number or get a new one. Select "Keep my existing number" to transfer your number from another service provider which you need to select from the available list only (If your package is Yaqoot, choose Zain).
4) Enter your existing mobile number to receive a verification code sent to you to confirm your request.
5) After that, choose how you would like to receive your SIM, either by "delivery" or “pick it up yourself” option and fill in the required details, and enter your contact number as another code will be sent to you to confirm your order.
6) And finally, choose the payment method to place your order.
For Zain, Mobily, Lebara, Yaqoot, and Virgin numbers, after receiving your SIM with successful authentication, your request will start processing and it takes up to 8 business hours (From Sunday to Thursday).

Note: If you opt for an eSIM, steps may vary a little as you will need to proceed with the payment and do the SIM authentication using the IAM code in order to receive the QR code to activate it.
And here is the steps to activate it after and enjoy the services:
1) Open your SIM pack and you will find that our all-in-one SIM (full size/micro/nano) to fits any device; select the appropriate size and insert it into your device.
2) You’ll receive a welcome SMS with the link to download our Jawwy app, or you can directly download it from the App Store or the Play Store for your iOS or Android device.
3) Enable the Jawwy mobile data, download and install the app.
4) Open the app and start using your line (Make sure to turn off WiFi and use Jawwy mobile data only).
Remember, if your device doesn't support the app, you can still activate the SIM through your account on Jawwy website jawwy.sa
