As per the direction of the General Authority of Zakat and Tax, the VAT rate on all our products and services will be increased from 5% to 15% effective from 1-7-2020.
Jawwy SIM cards:
VAT will be applied on all Jawwy SIMs.
Method of application:
VAT will be applied by adding 15% to Jawwy SIM price starting from 1-7-2020, and the customer will be notified accordingly when requesting services through (visiting Jawwy or stc stores, point of sale, SMS, website, and Jawwy App).
Recharge electronic recharge, Cards & e-voucher
For electronic recharges including bank, credit card, Mada, Apple pay & stcpay, VAT will be applied by adding 15% to the recharge value starting from 1st July 2020.
Plastic recharge cards with the disclaimer “5% VAT included” will be subject to an additional tax charge at the point of top-up if they’re used on the 1st July or after, when the additional VAT amount will be taken from the balance. VAT will not be added at the time of purchase.
However, for new recharge cards that don’t include the VAT disclaimer, VAT will be charged at the time of purchase
For eVouchers obtained from EVD terminals in-store, VAT will be applied at the time of purchase from 1st July. For eVouchers bought before 1st July, the additional VAT will be deducted from the balance at the time of recharge if they’re used on the 1st July or after.

Cards overprinted with (5% VAT included): The tax difference/delta will be collected from the recharge balance starting from July 1st. Example: upon redeeming the voucher from the 1st of July onward, the balance of the recharge card 100 SAR (with 5% VAT 105 SAR) will be 91.30 SAR. |
Overprinted with (Including VAT) without mentioning the percentage: The tax will be collected from purchase price starting from July 1. Example: When purchase and activation on July 1, the balance of the recharge card of 100 SAR at 115 SAR will be 100 SAR |
